Asos facing legal challenge over name

Asos, the online clothing retailer, is fighting a legal challenge in Hamburg that could force it to trade under a different name in Germany according to a report by the Financial Times.

Anson’s, the German menswear retailer which has 21 stores in Germany but does not sell online, is claiming that the Asos name is too similar to its own. The paper said the hearing for the case will be heard on 3 May.

The news comes after Asos announced soaring international sales last week.
