Asos appoints new FD

Jon Kamaluddin joining online fashion retailer
Asos has appointed Jon Kamaluddin as finance director, effective from November 1.

The online fashion retailer said that John Morgan, the current FD, is to step down from the board and resign as a director.
Kamaluddin qualified as a chartered accountant with Arthur Andersen, and then spent three years at Marks & Spencer in positions including head of finance for the per una clothing brand. Most recently he was finance controller of Nutrinnovator Holdings.
Asos chief executive Nick Robertson said: “We are delighted to welcome Jon to the board at this exciting time for Asos. With his experience of the retail sector, he will make an invaluable contribution to the group.
“Over the last four-and-half years, John Morgan has made a tremendous contribution to the success of Asos. He has been an important member of the team that has built Asos into a leading online fashion retailer taking it from the early start-up to a highly profitable company.
“We particularly appreciate that John has agreed to stay with us for the next two months to ensure a satisfactory handover to Jon Kamaluddin. As John has a young family, he is planning to work closer to his home in Wiltshire and we wish him well for the future.”
