Asda teams up with Pharmacy2U to launch online prescription service
Asda has become the first UK supermarket to launch an online prescription service.
The retailer has teamed up with Pharmacy2U to launch the Asda Online Pharmacy where customers can manage prescriptions online, arrange for them to be delivered to their home, and track orders.
Once ordered, prescriptions are checked by qualified pharmacists before being sent to the patient’s door at no extra cost. Asda is also planning to introduce a click-and-collect option from its 232 pharmacy locations at a later date.
Faisal Tuddy, Asda Pharmacy’s head of pharmacy and superintendent pharmacist, said: “We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our online prescription delivery service with Pharmacy2U.
“We know how important it is for families to be able to simply access their repeat prescriptions without having to worry. This expansion ensures greater convenience for our patients, who can now easily access these services online.”
Kevin Heath, chief executive of Pharmacy2U, added: “We are incredibly proud to have partnered with Asda to now bring our online prescription services to a place of ease for their customers. Supermarkets play a huge role in daily life making this a natural, yet exciting next step for patients.”
