Asda slams other retailers for profiteering from panic buying

ASDA has reduced the cost of a litre of fuel by up to 4 pence.
The nationwide maximum price at its 158 petrol stations will be 89.9p/litre for unleaded. Prices have also come down for diesel drivers with a new maximum price of 92.9p/litre.
As wholesale prices begin dropping to pre-Katrina levels, ASDA is determined that its motorists should be the first to benefit.
“Drivers have been ripped-off in the past ten days as drivers rushed to fill up,” said ASDA’s general merchandise director Tony Page. “Quite frankly we’ve been shocked at some of the prices we’ve seen elsewhere – here at ASDA we think customers deserve better than to be treated like that.”
