Asda launches first transactional mobile app
Asda has announced the launch of its first transactional mobile app to enable its customers to buy groceries and price check their shopping using their iPhones.
The Asda app also features a mobile store locator offering customers directions to their nearest Asda store as well as an integrated scanner which customers can use to add new products to their basket by scanning the barcode.
Kate Cuthbertson, Asda’s head of mobile strategy, said: “More than 60% of customers who access the Asda.com mobile website do so using iPhones, so we’ve created an app that allows them to shop – and price check – on the move.
“Our mobile strategy is moving at pace with more new developments planned into the New Year.”
Asda has said that it is also planning to launch an Android version of the app.
