Asda drops fuel price
ASDA has announced that it would drop petrol prices at all of its 167 petrol stations from midnight tonight 15 August 2007
The move will see unleaded fall to 91.9p across all its petrol stations in the UK a drop of up to two pence. Weak US gasoline demand has resulted in falls in European wholesale prices enabling petrol pump prices to be cut.
“With costs falling, we are the first retailer to pass cost reductions back to our customers while others continue to hold on to excessive margins,” said ASDA director, David Miles.
On top of this price reduction, all ASDA credit and store cardholders are entitled to a further two pence per litre discount when paying for fuel with their card.ASDA’s consistently low fuel prices and national pricing stance differs from other forecourt operators where prices are varied in line with local competition.
