Argos rolls out eReceipts across 750 stores
Argos has rolled out eReceipts across its 750 stores in the UK and Ireland following a trial earlier this year.
The retailer said the eReceipts will give customers the option of receiving an emailed receipt straight into their account to enable them to store a permanent digital record of their purchases and warranties.
The eReceipts platform will also provide Argos with a new channel to communicate with customers and to inform them of relevant offers. The retailer said eReceipts are currently achieving open rates in excess of 70%.
The technology has been developed by eReceipts, which is chaired by the former chief executive of Tesco Lord MacLaurin.
Never Miss a Retail Update!Stephen Vowles, Argos marketing director, said: “We are very excited about this initiative, especially as trials have been well received by colleagues and customers alike. Customers love it because they feel reassured that they have a record of purchases without cluttering up their wallets, and colleagues appreciate the benefitswhich enable them to provide an even more convenient service to customers.”
