Applications open for new retail start up incubator in London
A two week application process has been launched for Drugstore Retail Lab, a new incubator for startups developing innovative solutions in areas such as ecommerce, mobile payments, point of sale and stock management.
Drugstore Retail Lab is an initiative from the Drugstore, a partnership formed in 2014 by Publicis Worldwide and The Trampery to bring together startups and large corporations.
Adding a further specialism to Publicis Drugstore’s existing innovation offering, the initiative will occupy a dedicated workspace at The Trampery’s Old Street building.
A range of events and services will be available to connect startups with senior corporate figures and help them find new customers, strategic partnerships and investors. Startups will also get the chance to apply for investment from the €10 million Publicis 90 fund.
Dylan Williams, global chief strategy officer of Publicis Worldwide, said: “Publicis is working with corporations in every sector around the world who are hungry for new ideas in retail. The Drugstore Retail Lab will give the brightest retail startups access to top quality customers, strategic partners and investors.”
Applications are open until 11am on Wednesday 24 February. A briefing event for interested startups will be held at The Trampery Old Street at 5pm on Tuesday 16 February.
Charles Armstrong, founder of The Trampery, said: “Buying and selling is the foundation of the market economy. Right now we’re in the middle of the greatest disruption since the invention of money. As the latest expansion of The Trampery’s collaboration with Publicis we’re looking forward to helping the next generation of retail ideas become worldwide success stories.”
