Andrew Lynch to retire from board at Dixons

Electrical retailer Dixons has announced that Andrew Lynch is step down from his role of chairman of the audit committee and senior independent director in May next year.

Jock Lennox will join the business as a non-executive director in January and take over from Lynch as chairman of the audit committee when Lynch retires.

A chartered accountant, Lennox worked with Ernst & Young for 30 years before retiring in 2009.  He is currently a director and chairman of the Audit Committee of Mucklow Goup, Enquest, Hill and Smith Holdings and Oxford Instruments.

Commenting on the announcement, John Allan, chairman of Dixons Retail said: “Andrew Lynch has served on the Board for nearly 9 years and I would like to thank him for his excellent contribution during this period.”

He added: I am delightd that Jock Lennox has agreed to join our board and take over from Andrew as Audit Committee Chairman. Jock has a wealth of financial experience from his time at Ernst & Young and chairing a number of other Audit Committees.”
