All rise for Morrisons

Like for like sales during the 6 week Christmas and New Year period increased by 6.3 per cent excluding fuel and by 6.0 per cent including fuel.
In the 49 weeks to 7 January 2007 like for like sales were up by 5.4 per cent excluding fuel and by 6.3 per cent including fuel. Morrisons said that the results were ahead of expectations but that the trading environment remained tough.
