Exclusive negotiations with Cencosud end
December 17 2003
Talks between Ahold and Chilean retailer Cencosud have ended without an offer being made for Ahold’s stake in the Disco supermarket chain.
The Dutch retail giant has put Disco on the market as part of its plans to exit its South American operations.
An exclusive period of negotiations Cencosud has lapsed without an offer for Disco, which has supermarkets in Argentina and Chile.
Ahold said neither party could not reach final agreement, adding that discussions on the sale of Disco are continuing with interested parties.
