Age UK teams up with high street retailers on winter warmth campaign

Age UK is to work with a number of high street retailers as part of its Spread the Warmth campaign this winter.

Now in its third year, the charity’s Donate a Coat initiative is calling for people to Spread the Warmth by donating old winter coats to an Age UK shop with all the profits going to the charity’s winter warmth work. This year’s initiative will also include participation from a range of high street retailers who have donated a selection of brand new coats to be sold in the charity’s shops.

Retailers taking part in the scheme include Topshop, Barbour, Ted Baker, New Look, Wallis, Burton, BHS, Miss Selfridge, Jaeger, H&M, Dorothy Perkins, River Island and French Connection.

Age UK will showcase the range of coats available on its website from 7 November and will also tell shoppers where they can buy them.

Over 8,000 coats were donated and resold through Age UK shops last winter, helping to raise thousands of pounds for the charity which helps vulnerable older people.
