Adnams opens new store in Bury St Edmunds
Adnams, the Southwold-based brewer, distiller and retailer, has expanded its retail store portfolio with the opening of a new shop in the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds.
Having launched on 9 October, the store sells a range of Adnams’ award-winning beer, wine and hand-crafted spirits, alongside kitchenware items and gifts.
The new store is situated at 43A Cornhill near to the popular Buttermarket.
Bury St Edmunds is the second Adnams store to include a café. It also features an Adnams tasting bar where customers can ‘try before they buy’.
The store team is led by manager Tom Crittenden and assistant manager Tom Legge. Previously manager at the nearby Waterstones, Crittenden will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the store.
Meanwhile, Legge is a former tasting room manager at the Marianne Estate and sales manager at Warwick Estate, both in South Africa.
Neil Griffin, head of retail at Adnams, commented, “Bury St Edmunds was a natural choice for us when we set about opening a new store in the west of the county. We’re really excited to be here and it is an area we have earmarked for a long time. Located in the heart of the bustling market town, there is a great array of independent shops, as well as high street chains, nearby.
“The new store will offer everything you would expect from an Adnams shop, with the addition of a café, which serves local produce, simply prepared along with recommended drinks pairings.”
