Adams appoints international head

Childrenswear retailer looking to step up expansion outside UK
UK childrenswear retailer Adams has appointed Allen Hill to the new role of head of international.

Hill will be responsible for developing the company’s existing franchise partnerships in 13 countries, as well as establishing new international partnerships for the Adams.
Hill (pictured) joins from retail group Freeport, where he managed the Braintree and Castleford shopping centres. He began his retail career in 1983 with Marks & Spencer, spending 12 years in store management.
He then joined Leicester based Textured Jersey, a textile supplier to many high street clothing retailers.
In 1997, Hill launched Marks & Spencer food and clothing outlets in Dubai, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar for franchisee Al Futtaim. After five years he moved to Saudi Arabia, where he worked for Al Hokair as general manager of a franchise for Spanish retail group Inditex – which includes Zara, Massimo Dutti and Pull & Bear.
He said: “The Adams brand has huge potential, and I’m looking forward to using my international retail experience and contacts to develop existing franchise relationships and take the brand into new countries.”
Adams currently has 80 franchise outlets in Bahrain, Cyprus, Greece, Guernsey, Iceland, India, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malta, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. In the OK, Adams, now operates 520 outlets.
