Welcome Break to reopen 72 food and beverage units by 4 June

Welcome Break has said it will have reopened 72 Starbucks, KFC and/or Burger King units across its 26 motorway service areas by 4 June.

The company has already opened 32 food and beverage units across 18 sites and will open a further 40 across all 26 service areas by the June date.  This is in addition to its 39 forecourts and 36 retail stores which have remained open throughout the covid-19 lockdown.

John Diviney, chief executive at Welcome Break, said: “As the lockdown slowly eases and people around the UK gradually return to work we are delighted to be opening up these great brands. It will provide a much-needed boost to those on the road and to support Britain working again. We very much look forward to welcoming back our returning customers.”

To faciliate the reopenings, Welcome Break has reconfigured its service area layouts to enable customers to navigate around the buildings whilst adhering to social distancing guidelines. It has also introduced enhanced hygiene and cleaning processes.
