Waitrose launches range of non-alcoholic aperitifs

Waitrose & Partners has launched a range of non-alcoholic aperitifs to meet customer demand for low and no alcohol drinks.

The range of three apertifs has been blended and bottled in the UK by Æcorn, the sister brand of the world’s first distilled non-alcoholic spirit Seedlip. The drinks are made from 100% English grown grapes and also include stimulating herbs, roots and bitter botanicals..

Waitrose has seen a 180% uplift in sales of no and low alcohol drinks yearonyear. In addition, searches on Waitrose.com  for non-alcoholic spirits and aperitifs have increased by 2,140% and 82% respectively compared to last year. 

Pierpaolo Petrassi MW, head of drinks buying at Waitrose & Partners, said: “We know our customers are becoming more interested in no and low alcohol drinks, and the innovative flavours and techniques used in Æcorn will be able to offer them a premium non-alcoholic drinking experience.”
