Waitrose launches new Plant Living products to cater to rising flexitarian eating habits
Waitrose has launched 12 new Plant Living products as it looks to cater to rising flexitarian eating habits amongst its customers.
The move comes as new data from the supermarket reveals there has been a significant increase in searches on its grocery website for ingredients such as canned lentils, marinated tofu and vegan salad recipes of late.
Simona Cohen-Vida-Welsh, Waitrose vegan product developer, said: “With customers prioritising whole foods, we have incorporated more vegetables into our plant-based proteins.
“Our new Plant Living: Plant & Veg Mince and Plant Living: Plant & Vegballs are both made from vegetables and pulses and are extremely versatile – allowing customers to make easy and delicious plant-based meals everyday.”
Other products include items such as Plant Living: Garlic-filled Doughballs, Plant Living: Southern Fried No Chicken and Plant Living: Curried Vegetable Mini Rolls.
