Waitrose Duchy Organic reaches £30 million charitable milestone
Waitrose has revealed that its Waitrose Duchy Organic range has generated over £30 million for The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Fund since the brand was licensed to Waitrose ten years ago.
Sales from the range provide an annual donation to the fund which supports charitable causes across the UK.
The news follows a record year of sales for Waitrose Duchy Organic which this week will unveil a contemporary new look to highlight its “good food, good farming and good causes” values.
James Bailey, executive director, Waitrose, said: “To reach this milestone amount raised for good causes is a reflection of the success of the Waitrose Duchy Organic range at Waitrose. We are proud to be custodians of this brand and, after a year of record sales, look forward to further success and support for The Prince of Wales’s many charitable causes in the future.”
Waitrose Duchy Organic was originally founded as Duchy Originals by HRH The Prince of Wales to champion organic farming. The range was brought exclusively to Waitrose just over 10 years ago following a licensing agreement which gave the supermarket exclusive rights to the range. It now offers over 300 food and drink products.
