Waitrose appoints new finance director
The John Lewis Partnership has announced that Ross Avery has been appointed to the position of finance director of the Waitrose supermarket chain.
Currently working as Waitrose’s transformation director, Avery has been part of the John Lewis Partnership since 2001 after starting out as a graduate trainee. Subsequent roles have included seven years in Waitrose branches, head of strategy and ecommerce director.
Avery will will take up his new finance director position at the end of the month and will join the Waitrose management board. He will report directly to Waitrose managing director Rob Collins and to Patrick Lewis, group finance director for the John Lewis Partnership.
Collins said: “Ross is a talented, high calibre leader with the wide experience and deep understanding of our business that will make him a terrific finance director.”
