Tim Hortons opens first outlet in a shopping centre
Tim Hortons, the Canadian café and bake shop, has opened its first outlet in a shopping centre location at Silverburn in Glasgow.
Spanning 2,368 square feet, the shop is situated in the Wintergarden, next to Patisserie Valerie, and offers the brand’s full range of specialty hot drinks, breakfast items, soups, doughnuts, bagels and sandwiches.
Kevin Hydes, chief finance and commercial officer of the Tim Hortons franchise in the UK, said: “Opening our debut restaurant in a dedicated retail destination marks a key point in our expansion across the UK, and we are thrilled we chose Silverburn as the location. We have experienced a fantastic response since opening our first UK Tim Hortons restaurant in Glasgow earlier in the year, and we are excited to continue to build the brand with our Scottish guests.”
The opening follows the recent news that PureGym has signed for an 11,300 square foot unit near to Silverburn’s 14-screen Cineworld cinema. Other brands to have committed to Silverburn this year include Molton Brown and Flannels.
David Pierotti, general manager at Silverburn, said: “We are delighted to announce the hotly anticipated arrival of Tim Hortons at Silverburn. Selecting this location for its first restaurant in a UK shopping centre reaffirms Silverburn’s reputation as the region’s leading retail and leisure destination.”
