Tim Hortons brews up expansion with new Scottish store
Tim Hortons, the Canadian cafe and bake shop, is to open its first outlet in a Scottish shopping centre at Silverburn in Glasgow.
Situated next to Patisserie Valerie in the Wintergarden, the 220 square metre unit will open this summer following the launch of the brand’s first UK store on Glasgow’s Argyle Street earlier this month.
Gurprit Dhaliwal, chief operating officer of Tim Hortons UK and Ireland, said: “Our first Tim Hortons restaurant received an exceptional welcome in Glasgow, so we’re excited to launch this debut shopping centre concept within Silverburn. With its excellent reputation and recent investment by Hammerson, Silverburn is a perfect location for the expansion of Tim Hortons across Scotland.”
The news follows the announcements that Flannels and Molton Brown will also open stores at Silverburn this summer.
Sarah Fox, head of restaurants and leisure at Hammerson, said: “Tim Hortons is a fantastic addition to Silverburn’s line-up of leading brands and the comprehensive day-out offer that the centre provides. The company’s decision to begin their national expansion plans at Silverburn is also testament to the centre’s strong position in the market.”
