The Cornish Bakery Opens New Nottingham Site, Reports Record Sales Over £1M Weekly
The Cornish Bakery has opened a new large site in the centre of Nottingham as it announced that it has delivered record-breaking summer sales exceeding £1 million per week with like-for-like growth of 6.5%.
The company is also planning to open further sites this year in Taunton, Winchester, Chelmsford and Milton Keynes to take its total number to 65.
The new bakery in the Bridlesgate area of Nottingham has retained the existing exterior of its heritage building while internal fixtures have been sympathetically stripped back to expose the original brick wall facade and timber flooring. The shop also features unique artworks that have been commissioned from Cornish creatives.
In June the company appointed Mat Finch as its first managing director.
Commenting on the new opening, Finch said: “We have been considering the city for some time now and trading in the first few weeks has far exceeded our expectations with over 5,000 eager customers,.
“In the words of our founder Steve Grocutt: ‘Bakery is most definitely the new coffee shop.’ Together, our whole team is following this mantra – carefully, and deeply, considering optimal locations for our dedicated Cornish Bakery growth strategy.
“Throughout the rest of 2024 we’ll be bringing our unique experience, our top-flight customer service, B-Corp Union coffee, new product ranges and our local charity partnerships, to new places and spaces all over the country.”
In addition to its bakeries, The Cornish Bakery also operates an online store selling its At Home ranges.
