Tesco offers discounted ‘Clubcard Prices’ as part of centenary celebrations

Tesco is offering its 19 million Clubcard holders discounts of between 15% and 50% on selected products such as coffee, pet food, televisions and BBQs as part of its centenary celebrations.

Running throughout May, the ‘Clubcard Prices’ will be available in-store and online. To get the discounts, in-store customers are required to tap their card or scan the Clubcard app at the till, while online shoppers get their discounts applied automatically.

Alessandra Bellini, Tesco chief customer officer, said: “Clubcard continues to be the most rewarding loyalty scheme in the sector. As we are celebrating 100 years of great value, we wanted to say a big thank you to our millions of loyal Clubcard customers with special lower prices just for them.”

Tesco launched its Clubcard in 1995 and updated it in 2017 with a contactless card. Shoppers get one point for every pound they spend (one point for every £2 with Tesco fuel) and can redeem them for money-off vouchers to spend on their groceries. Customers can also choose redeem their points for three times their value with Tesco’s Reward Partners.
