Springfields Outlet and Leisure hails strong Christmas trading
Spalding’s Springfields Outlet and Leisure has announced that its monthly turnover increased by 9% in December after it posted its highest weekly sales on record twice in the month.
The centre also said that its Winter Clearance Event, which began on Boxing Day, resulted in turnover surging by 23% year-on-year. Evening shopping was particularly popular throughout December when turnover after 6pm increased by 13%. Shoppers also enjoyed the centre’s Winter Wonderland Christmas Walk which sold out weeks in advance.
The strong trading also continued into the first week of January when turnover rose by 29% on last year and by 42% on pre-pandemic levels.
Springfields has also announced that Cadbury Outlet will be joining its line-up. In addition to stocking a range of chocolate items, the store will feature a bespoke hot chocolate and luxury ice cream station selling the brand’s popular flavours.
Ian Sanderson, director of Springfields Outlet and Leisure and SLR Outlets, said: “I am delighted to be welcoming the Cadbury Outlet to Springfields as it reinforces the location as a high-quality destination and shows the continuing improving quality of retail as we sign up high tier brands.
“Springfields was chosen because of the strong family-oriented footfall, driven by the unique blend of retail and leisure, and Cadbury recognise that turnover is growing relentlessly. This generates higher spend per sq ft and provides visitors with a brilliant high-quality experience.”
