Sainsbury’s reassures customers on ‘plenty of food’ this Christmas
Sainsbury’s chief executive Simon Roberts has written to customers to let them know that there will be “plenty of food” available in its stores this Christmas as he looks to reassure them in light of the global supply chain crisis.
In addition, the supermarket has posted a full list on its website of its Christmas product ranges and when they will be available.
Roberts said stores will be getting regular deliveries right up until Christmas Eve and that longer-life products, such as Christmas cakes, puddings, mince pies, nuts and cranberry sauce, are already available.
He added: “We expect to sell more fresh turkeys this year than ever before and we’ll have plenty available, but if you can’t wait until they arrive on 19th December, frozen turkeys are already in store, as well as frozen party food. Fresh party food will arrive in stores from mid-November and from 1st December, shelves will be well stocked with all your favourite fresh festive products – from pigs in blankets to Christmas cheeses. We’ll also have lots of new delicious things for you to try this year – so look out for those too.”
He also revealed that Christmas grocery home delivery slots will become available to the retailer’s delivery pass holders from 23 November and to everyone else from 30 November.
