Sainsbury’s opens two new convenience stores
Sainsbury’s has opened two new convenience stores in the space of a week as part of its expansion plans.
The retailer has launched a new Local store in London on Wallis Road in Hackney Wick and another in the Priors Hall Park district of Corby.
The Hackney store will be open from 7am to 11pm seven days a week and will sell a range of fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy products, bakery items and other convenience products. The shop also features a Costa coffee machine.
Jason Edwards, the store’s manager, said: “We know how important it is for the community to have easy access to everything they need, and the team is looking forward to getting to work to serve our new customers. This is a proud day for the team, especially for our store colleague Khadija Nakmoucth who has worked for Sainsbury’s for ten years and had the honour of cutting the ribbon to celebrate our official opening.”
Meanwhile, customers at the Corby shop will also be able to access Argos Click & Collect in-store. To use the service, customers enter their collection number on a tablet then a Sainsbury’s staff member collects their order for them.
Sainsbury’s property director Patrick Dunne said: “Sainsbury’s is excited to be opening the doors to its newest store, representing a significant investment in Northamptonshire. We’re proud to have delivered a local shopping experience that will meet the needs of Priors Hall Park well into the future. This new store has provided an economic boost to the local economy, enhanced retail choice in the community and created jobs.”
