Sainsbury’s opens new Local store in York
Sainsbury’s has opened a new Local convenience store in the centre of York.
Spanning 1,700 square feet, the shop in the city’s Davygate will stock around 2,000 products including fruit and vegetables, dairy products, baked goods and a range of grocery items. Customers can also pick up a coffee from the in-store self-service Costa machine.
The supermarket is also planning to launch a number of other stores across Yorkshire in the next year or so including shops at York station and Harrogate’s Cambridge Street.
Sainsbury’s property director Patrick Dunne said: “As part of our continued mission to offer customers the value, quality and convenience they want, we’re really pleased to further expand our local store estate. We’re really excited about our investment plans in Yorkshire and look forward to updating our customers as soon as possible on other stores we have in the pipeline for the region.”
