Sainsbury’s opens new central London convenience store
Sainsbury’s has opened a new 4,500 square foot convenience store in the heart of London’s West End.
The new Sainsbury’s Local shop in Leicester Square will offer a range of fresh food and grocery products aimed at tourists and local shoppers.
Customers will be able to buy freshly baked pizza from an in-store oven, drinks from a self-service coffee machine and orange juicer and a selection of sushi products from Sushi Gourmet. They will also be able to take advantage of a click and collect service for Argos and the supermarket’s Tu clothing brand.
Trading hours will be 7am to midnight Monday to Saturday and 12pm to 6pm on Sunday. The store also features a grab and go station that offers fresh pastries, fruit and snacks from 7am through to closing time.
Graham Biggart, director of commercial operations at Sainsbury’s said: “We’re excited to be opening our latest format Food on the Move store in the vibrant heart of London. We’ve tailored our ranges and store design to meet the needs of our customers; whether that’s for a coffee and tasty breakfast snack, some lunchtime inspiration or healthy choices for a meal later. Our hot pizza and Sushi Gourmet counters will also make eating on the go even more convenient.”
