Sainsbury’s opens new Bristol Local store
Sainsbury’s has opened a new convenience store at Bristol’s Charlton Hayes.
The 2,700 square foot Sainsbury’s Local will offer customers a range of chilled, fresh and frozen grocery products as well as freshly baked goods from the in-store bakery.
Sainsbury’s said the store team will play an active role in the local area and support its nationwide community programmes and charity partners. In January, Sainsbury’s announced that it would be allocating an additional £1 million for stores to donate to charities and other good causes in their local areas. This follows the retailer’s ‘Help Brighten a Million Christmases’ campaign that raised £6 million in December for over 800 charity partners, including local charities East and North Bristol Food Banks and North Bristol Community Project.
Sainsbury’s property director Patrick Dunne said: “We’re delighted to add this new local store to the Sainsbury’s estate. The store looks fantastic and I’m proud of all the hard work that’s been put in to make it come together. We ensure our stores are in the best locations for our customers and I’m sure residents in the local community will enjoy the value, quality and convenience of their new store.”
