Sainsbury’s cuts prices of nearly 1,000 everyday items
Sainsbury’s is cutting the price of 930 every day grocery products in its stores and online.
The supermarket is investing £150 million in price reductions across its own brand food ranges and a number of branded household items. It estimates that over 12 million customers will be better off as a result.
Sainsbury’s said customers will be able to save on items such as cereals, vegetables, meat, cheese and pasta as well as ready meals. Every day toiletries and household items will also be cheaper.
Mike Coupe, Sainsbury’s chief executive, said: “These low prices now give customers more reasons to visit our stores. We are committed to making shopping with us a great experience and today’s announcement is further demonstration of how we are investing to help our millions of customers live well for less.”
According to the supermarket’s figures, a typical weekly family shop will be £4.95 cheaper following the price cuts, which is a fall of 8% from £62.88 to £57.93.
