Riverford founder appointed as ambassador to WWF-UK

Guy Singh-Watson, the founder of organic food delivery business Riverford, has been appointed as an Ambassador for WWF-UK.

In his new role, he will share his insights and expertise on nature-friendly farming, and highlight the value of vegetables in a sustainable diet.

During the last 30 years, Singh-Watson has taken Riverford from ‘one man and a wheelbarrow’ delivering homegrown, organic vegetables to friends, to a national vegetable box scheme which delivers to around 80,000 customers a week.

Not afraid to speak up on the issues he feels strongly about, he shares the unfiltered ups and downs of producing organic food via Riverford’s YouTube, Wicked Leeks magazine and social media channels.

Karen Bearman, head of ambassadors and fellows at WWF, said:  “We are thrilled to have Guy join the Council of Ambassadors, bringing to WWF his knowledge as a farmer, food business leader, and champion of the agriculture community.

“Agriculture is one of the biggest drivers of nature loss. Working towards a more sustainable food system is a priority for WWF, and we are passionate about working in partnership with farmers and food businesses in the UK to create the change our planet needs and reduce our impact on nature.”
