Pret A Manger pilots first click and collect service

Pret A Manger is piloting its first  click and collect service as it looks to find new ways  for customers to order its food now that the Covid-19 lockdown is easing.

Working with Deliveroo, the company has begun a trial service in five London shops.

Customers order and pay remotely through the Deliveroo app. When they arrive at  their chosen Pret store, they are able to skip any queues and head straight to a designated click and collect point to pick up their order.

Pret is currently testing different points in shops for pick up, including a ‘hatch’ system which means there will no need for customers to enter the shop.

After the initial trial, Pret is planning to extend the service to more shops in the next few months.

Alex Chisholm, digital transformation director at Pret said: “As more of our customers change their daily routines, we’ve been looking at how Pret can meet their needs.

“Click and collect is a great way of offering a fast, contact-free service for our freshly made food and we look forward to making it available to more customers in the coming months.”

In a further move, Pret  is also exploring new recipes for evening delivery for trial in a limited number of shops next month.
