Planet Organic to launch store at Broadway Market
Planet Organic will be opening a new store at London’s Broadway Market next month.
The opening will take the organic food and grocery retailer’s total number of stores to 14.
Planet Organic is committed to offering sustainable careers to the local communities around its stores and through its Retail Academy provides apprenticeships across London. It also works with House of Barnabas and Well Grounded to give people the support and training they need to find paid employment to help break the cycle of homelessness.
Through partnerships with companies such as Olio and Too Good to Go, the retailer became a zero edible food waste business in 2018.
At Broadway Market, it will be partnering with a number of local charities and organisations. It will also be collaborating with Hackney Council with a view to launching apprenticeship and mentorship schemes.
Al Overton, buying director at Planet Organic, said: “I have been here at Planet Organic for 19 years and so know the value of strong relationships. All of our significant achievements over the past 25 years have been a direct result of the partnerships we’ve nurtured. This is why opening the Broadway Market store is so exciting – it is an opportunity to forge new friendships, to talk to new groups of customers and make an even bigger difference.”
