Pizza Express launches loyalty club where some members will be offered Dough Balls for life
Pizza Express has launched a new loyalty club where customers can earn rewards when they check into pizzerias or scan the QR codes on boxes when they collect Pizza Express food, get it delivered or buy it at a supermarket.
To encourage customers to sign up to the app based scheme, the restaurant brand is offering them free Dough Balls.
Once the app has been downloaded, members can unlock Bronze status when they earn one pizza stamp, and Silver and Gold status when they collect five and 12 stamps respectively. Gold members will also be given free Dough Balls, but this time for an entire year.
Examples of other rewards include free side dishes in pizzerias, pizza on a birthday, and free meals for kids.
To celebrate the launch, special edition, diamond encrusted ‘pizza bling rings’ have been created that will “wed owners to Pizza Express for life”. With an initial ten up for grabs, these will be awarded at random to ten people who achieve Gold Status over the next three months. Customers can then flash the rings in restaurants to obtain their rewards.
More will be released throughout the year and awarded to people who make significant contributions in the world of music as the brand makes reference to its musical heritage. Pizza Express has provided a platform for aspiring talent at its music venues since 1969, with acts including the likes of Amy Winehouse, Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith.
Arslan Sharif, digital and loyalty director at Pizza Express, said: “Our new Pizza Express Club is a members club like no other and has been set up to reward our fans for the love and loyalty they show us. Unlike other loyalty cards and apps, the rewards last a year and don’t go back to the start every time they’re used. So get to Gold and the world of Pizza Express will include free pizza, Dough Balls, drinks and birthday treats.”
