Pizza Express announces retail expansion with new frozen range
Pizza Express has introduced a range of frozen pizzas, pastas and garlic bread as it further establishes itself as dine-in, dine out and retail business.
The new range will be launching in Tesco, the brand’s biggest retail partner.
The move follows the recent transformation of the Pizza Express retail range to include an expanded chilled offering and refreshed packaging.
Having launched its supermarket range 20 years ago, Pizza Express said it now forms a substantial part of the business with a £110 million retail sales value. The introduction of a frozen range comes as the British Frozen Food Federation has revealed two in five consumers are buying more frozen food than 12 months ago.
The new range includes products such as the Margherita Speciale and the American Speciale pizzas, as well as Padana, Lasagna, Spinach & Ricotta Cannelloni, Pollo Forza Pasta, Spaghetti Meatballs and Garlic Bread with Mozzarella.
Pizza Express retail director Rich Mills said: “Our frozen range is backed by more than 20 years of experience in offering customers restaurant quality chilled pizzas, and this new range allows us to enter the frozen category where we know our customers are purchasing for convenience and different meal occasions to that of chilled.
“We’re very proud to be an omnichannel brand and with our retail range, customers are able to have an enlivening dining experience at home – whether it’s dinner for tonight with our chilled range, or an upcoming dining occasion customers can now plan ahead for with our frozen range.”
