Paul seeks UK franchise partners

French artisan bakery Paul is entering the franchise market as it looks to roll out its premium bakery brand nationally.

The company is now seeking “like-minded” franchise partners to take on a choice of three store models which will include a 1,500 square foot café format and smaller “express” and kiosk formats for service stations and transport hubs, towns, city centres and suburban villages.

Paul has been baking bread and pastries for 130 years in France and entered the UK 20 years ago in London. It has also been operating in Oxford for the last six years.

Mark Hilton, chief executive of Paul UK, said: “As we enter the franchise market, we will be looking for like-minded, experienced investors and operators who are just as passionate about baking and quality as we are.”

“Whilst we continue to grow the brand in London, we have also identified numerous national opportunities outside of the capital, which will be enabled predominantly, although not exclusively, by working with franchise partners. We are currently determining priority cities, but if approached by the right investors outside of these areas, we are open to having dialogue with them”.
