One Stop celebrates the Coronation with £25,000 community donations
To celebrate the King’s Coronation, One Stop has provided 100 community groups with a £250 donation through their ‘Community Partnership Programme’.
One Stop has many ongoing community initiatives throughout the year, working with both national and local charity partners. These partnerships and initiatives have seen One Stop fundraise and donate more than £10 Million over the last 10 years to good causes.
To commemorate the event, the convenience store retailer has also donated a bench to the residents of Samuel Hobson House, a care home in Stoke-on-Trent. The bench was made from recycled plastic which was collected from One Stop’s stores and sorted by the One Stop Distribution Centre Recycling Team. The plastic was originally used in flowerpots in-stores, but through their partnership with Veolia the finished article was created.
Jack Taylor, One Stop’s Community and Partnership Manager said: “We look forward to seeing how these donations will support events up and down the country, both big and small. The King’s Coronation will bring the whole country together, and we’re thrilled to be able to offer our support to those looking to celebrate this historic event.”
The celebratory event will also be marked across all One Stop stores online with a coronation menu added to all online platforms. One Stop has also worked with Deliveroo to create an exclusive coronation bundle with Becky Scones, One Stop Double Cream and One Stop Strawberry Jam.
One Stop’s Head of Customer and Business Support, Nigel Prendergast, added: “We will have specially designed displays and offers in-store and online, helping our customers celebrate the occasion to the fullest. As well as this we’ve created an interactive Coronation themed game on our website, with a London trip for two to be won.”
