Oldest Waitrose in Britain gets a contemporary new look
The oldest Waitrose store in Britain has re-opened with a contemporary new look after a six-week closure period.
The supermarket in north London’s Temple Fortune has undergone a full refurbishment to give it a more modern look and feel.
Work has included the introduction of a new layout across the whole shop floor, including new refrigeration, an improved fruit and vegetable area and a relocated wine department.
Chris Dey, branch manager at Waitrose Temple Fortune, said: “All the partners here at Temple Fortune were really excited about the reopening of our shop. The shop itself is looking absolutely fantastic, and the customer feedback so far has been brilliant, with many saying that the shop feels so much brighter and bigger thanks to the new layout. We can’t wait to welcome many more customers back over the coming weeks.”
Having opened in 1945, the store has gone through a number of extensions and expansions over the years.
