New Sainsbury’s Local store opens in Leeds
Sainsbury’s has opened a new Sainsbury’s Local store in the heart of Leeds city centre.
Situated in Wellington Place, the 2,800 square foot convenience shop is one of the retailer’s biggest Local stores to date.
The store will offer fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy products, an in-store bakery, drinks, sandwiches and snacks along with other convenience products.

It will also stock a trial range of gym and protein products.
Sean Walker, the head of Business Against Crime in Leeds, attended the launch to cut the ribbon and welcome the first customers along with the store’s manager, Andrew Schlesinger.
The new shop has created 15 new jobs.
Schlesinger said: “We are delighted to be opening a brand new Local store in the heart of Leeds, providing residents and workers in Wellington Place with a convenient place to pick up their favourite grocery products at fantastic value.”
