Nespresso and Change Please partner to tackle homelessness with immersive experience

Nespresso  in collaboration with social enterprise Change Please, has launched an immersive experience at Outernet London to raise awareness about homelessness.

This week-long event, aims to shed light on the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness and the transformative work of Change Please, which empowers individuals by training them as baristas and helping them find employment. This initiative is part of the second phase of the Nespresso x Change Please partnership, with Nespresso pledging £1 million to support this cause.

Immersive experience highlights homelessness and hope

The event, hosted at London’s entertainment venue Outernet, uses advanced audio and video technology to portray the realities of homelessness. One poignant display offers visitors a ground-level perspective to symbolise the struggles of homelessness, gradually raising the view to represent hope and the shared ambition of Nespresso and Change Please to end homelessness permanently.

Coffee as a force for good

The multisensory event includes a Nespresso for Change Please coffee van, where visitors can purchase the newly released co-branded coffee blends. These blends are a tangible representation of the partnership’s goal to use coffee as a means to empower and uplift those in need.

Anna Lundstrom, CEO of Nespresso UK & ROI, emphasised the significance of the event:

“Outernet London’s world-leading exhibition is the perfect place to launch our partnership and we are extremely proud to play our part in supporting Change Please to help build understanding around these important societal issues. Together, we can raise awareness of the brilliant work that Change Please delivers within UK communities. By harnessing coffee as a force for good, change is truly possible.”

A call to action

Cemal Ezel OBE, Founder and CEO of Change Please, expressed gratitude for the collaboration:

“The Nespresso for Change Please campaign is a remarkable opportunity to amplify our work and mission of helping people experiencing homelessness through the power of coffee. We are deeply grateful for this partnership, which allows us to spotlight this critical issue on a grand scale. Our hope is that this campaign inspires everyone to join our movement and contribute, whether in big or small ways, to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Homelessness is something that can affect everyone and it takes us all to be part of the solution.”

Celebrating a milestone partnership

Nespresso’s commitment to support Change Please with a minimum of £1 million highlights the coffee giant’s dedication to making a social impact. The funds are directed towards helping people experiencing homelessness through employment opportunities, providing a living wage, housing, therapy, and additional support to help them reintegrate into society.

Throughout the week, from 28th June until 6th July, visitors at Outernet London can engage with various immersive displays and learn more about the mission of Change Please. This social enterprise, founded in 2015, has been at the forefront of using coffee to create positive social change. All profits from Change Please support their mission to end homelessness, offering a blend of great taste and impactful social good.
