Naked Wines appoints group chief executive designate
Naked Wines has appointed Rodrigo Maza as its group chief executive designate.
Having worked as the company’s UK managing director since September, Maza will work side-by-side with Rowan Gormley, Naked Wines’ executive chairman, over the next few months to ensure a successful transition. Following this, Gormley will return to his previous position as non-executive chairman.
Maza will join the board of Naked Wines with immediate effect.
Possessing extensive experience in the alcohol beverage industry, he previously launched and scaled several online delivery businesses for alcoholic beverages across a range of ecommerce and subscription models, including AB InBev’s TaDa Delivery in Latin America and PerfectDraft in Western Europe.
Since joining Naked Wines, he has been working with Gormley and the executive team to define the company’s turnaround strategy.
Gormley said: “We are delighted to welcome Maza as CEO designate. In his short time with us he has proven his ability to energise his team to get Naked back on the growth path, and his previous experience has a compelling combination of entrepreneurial startups and big company best practice, both of which we are going to need.”
Naked Wines said Emma Kamel, formerly chief operating officer of its UK business, has succeeded Maza as UK managing director. She has worked with the business for over six years, including as commercial and supply chain director.
