Morrisons’ Trevor Strain takes on additional commercial responsibilities
The Morrisons supermarket chain has announced that its finance chief Trevor Strain has been given additional responsibilities within the commercial side of the business and has been promoted to the position of group chief finance and commercial officer.
Strain is taking over the commercial director responsibilities from Darren Blackhurst, who is moving to a projects role reporting to Morrisons chief executive David Potts.
Commenting on the move, Potts said: “Trevor has played, and continues to play, a critical part in the ongoing turnaround of Morrisons and his responsibilities are already significantly wider than those of the traditional CFO, including our property and online operations. Now is the right time for him to take on the important new responsibilities of commercial director, where he has already been increasingly involved.”
Prior to joining Morrisons in 2009, Strain worked for Tesco in a number of roles including UK property finance director and UK planning and reporting finance director. He began his career with Arthur Andersen.
