Morrisons to launch exclusive discounts for the disabled community
Morrisons is to offer an exclusive 10% discount to members of the disabled community when they spend £25 or more on groceries online.
To access the discount, customers are asked to sign up to the free discount platform, Purpl, and verify their disability status with accepted documentation such as PIP, DLA, Blue Badge, Disabled Bus Pass, Disabled Persons Railcard and Access Card.
After their status is verified by Purpl within an hour, their discount code can be applied online on the Morrisons.com checkout page.
The initiative is being launched as a trial partnership with Purpl as the supermarket assesses the benefits for the disabled community. The discount can also be used alongside the Morrisons More Card for additional savings.
Never Miss a Retail Update!Charlotte Exell, director of online and ability lead for Morrisons, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Purpl to help make Morrisons more accessible to customers living with a disability.
“We know from listening to our disabled customers that they often face a number of additional living expenses and so this trial will help lower the cost of their grocery bills.”
Purpl was created in July 2024 by Georgina Colman, who lives with multiple sclerosis and ADHD, to help alleviate the additional living costs associated with disabilities.
Colman added: “I am so proud that we’ve been able to partner with Morrisons to offer this discount. I know first-hand that living with a disability can be expensive so I’m very pleased that we can help our members with something as essential as their weekly grocery shop.”
