Morrisons offers new click & collect service from cafes

Morrisons has announced that it is offering a new click & collect ordering service for its in-store cafes.

While the cafes are currently closed due to lockdown, customers can order items in a contactless way by paying for items from the retailer’s menu via their mobile device.

To use the service, customers  visit Morrisons.com/cafe or scan the QR code in the cafe itself.  They then select their store, choose the items they want from the menu, pay with their card or via Apple Pay, then pick up their order.

All items on the menu are prepared by hand and packaged in cardboard takeaway boxes.

Jordan McLean, Morrisons director of technology, said: “We know how popular our cafes are with our customers and so in this current climate we’re really pleased to be able to offer them this extra reassurance.  We’re continuing to invest in our digital offer and our customers will be able to see some other exciting improvements in our cafes in the coming weeks.”

Customers still have the option to pay by phone and can also order an afternoon tea from the retailer’s cafes through its Doorstep Delivery service.  The service is available to anyone elderly, vulnerable, shielding or self isolating.
