Morrisons introduces braille menus in cafes
Morrisons has introduced braille menus in all of its cafés to improve the experience for visually impaired customers.
The move follows the supermarket listening to customers who require visual aids who stated that visiting a café can be a daunting experience.
A spokesperson from Guide Dogs said: “Enabling people with sight loss to have the best experience and the same access as everyone else is an important part of ensuring they can live independently, actively and well.
“Introducing braille menus is a welcome step in ensuring Morrisons stores are more accessible, as well as working with us to make sure all guide dog owners are rightly welcomed in-store.”
Never Miss a Retail Update! Each café will have a braille menu available which includes all the same details of meal options and deals written in the combination of raised dots.
Sean Gill, director of café at Morrisons, said: “It can be easy to take everyday tasks like ordering in a Café for granted. The change will make a big difference for the people that need it the most and we look forward to making our cafés a more inclusive experience for all our customers to enjoy tasty food at an affordable price.”
