Morrisons cuts price of festive vegetables to 10p

Morrisons is cutting the price of festive vegetables to 10p to make it cheaper for customers to tuck into a full Christmas dinner this year.

The supermarket’s More Card holders can pick-up British Carrots (1kg), British Parsnips (500g), British Brussel Sprouts (500g) and a British Whole Swede at the price from 18 to 24 December.

Meanwhile, British Best Potatoes (2kg) have been reduced to half-price in stores to £1.15 until 1 January.

Fraser Lovatt, category director of produce & horticulture at Morrisons, said: “No Christmas dinner is complete without all the trimmings of the seasonal vegetables.

Never Miss a Retail Update!

“By cutting the costs of products like carrots, parsnips, sprouts and potatoes, we are helping customers get all they need for the perfect festive roast without breaking the bank.

“Selling more of these products also stops them from going to waste and enables us to give more back to our important network of British farmers.”

Morrisons has recently announced that it will bring forward its planned financial support to help UK growers which includes committing over £1.4 billion to British farming annually. It is also giving the 2,500 farmers it works with a 5% discount in store and online, and a 25% discount on its café food and drink every Tuesday.
