McColl’s provides coronavirus update
The McColl’s convenience retailer has confirmed that all of its stores are remaining open throughout the coronavirus outbreak as it introduces a range of measures to protect staff and customers.
Although the business has seen increased demand due to Covid-19, it is now acting to preserve cash, manage working capital, maximise liquidity and phase capital expenditure throughout the crisis.
Jonathan Miller, McColl’s chief executive, added: “I would like to thank all of our colleagues who are working incredibly hard to keep the neighbourhood communities we serve supplied with the food, goods and services they need on a daily basis. Given the situation, we urge our customers – over half of whom live within just 400m of our stores – to buy only what they need and to help the elderly and vulnerable with their shopping needs if they are able to do so.”
