McColl’s appoints chief financial officer
Convenience retailer McColl’s has appointed Giles David as its new chief financial officer.
Due to join the business on 1 June, David previously held the same position at Casual Dining Group, Wiggle, United House and Brighthouse.
Jonathan Miller, McColl’s chief executive, said: “Giles is a highly experienced CFO with a real understanding of customer facing businesses, and I’m delighted he’s joining McColl’s. This is a very busy time for our business with increased customer demand, as we work hard to serve customers in neighbourhoods across the UK, and we’re really looking forward to having Giles on board and benefiting from his expertise.”
McColl’s has also announced that its chief commercial officer, Richard Crampton, will be appointed to its board on 1 June. Crampton joined the business in the newly created role in September last year.
In addition, the company has appointed Benedict Smith as a non-executive director. Recently interim group chief financial officer of Dennis Publishing Group, he has also held chief financial officer roles at Hunter Boot, GAME Digital, Harrods and Spirit Group. He will take up his new role on 1 July.
Angus Porter, McColl’s chairman, said: “I am delighted to welcome Giles, Richard and Benedict to the Board of McColl’s. Giles brings with him strong financial stewardship, Richard’s is a well-deserved appointment having already made a significant contribution to the business, and Benedict has in-depth retail industry knowledge and expertise that we will greatly benefit from.”
