John Lewis extends partnership with Caffè Nero to cafes
The John Lewis Partnership is expanding its collaboration with Caffè Nero by opening a number of coffee shops in its Waitrose supermarkets and John Lewis department stores .
This has included launching five sit-in cafes in Waitrose outlets in Billericay, Godalming, Keynsham, Locks Heath and Stroud, as well as in a John Lewis store in Westfield White City. Shoppers will be offered coffee from Nero Roasting Company alongside items from Waitrose’s food menu.
The move follows the launch of a partnership between John Lewis and Caffè Nero in 2021 where My Waitrose loyalty card holders are offered free hot drinks from machines in 320 stores.
The new cafes will provide coffee made by baristas unlike the free takeaway offering.
Will Stratton-Morris, UK chief executive of Caffè Nero, told The Times that the cafes are a “perfect pairing”.
Charlotte Di Cello. commercial director for Waitrose, said: “We now our customers love to have the option of enjoying a coffee, snack or meal after they shop.”
