Hotel Chocolat launches branded spaces within Waitrose stores
Luxury chocolate brand Hotel Chocolat has extended its longstanding relationship with the John Lewis Partnership by securing solus branded spaces for its products in selected Waitrose stores.
The company has had its own space within gift zones in John Lewis department stores for the last 12 years and will now take a similar approach in Waitrose supermarkets.
The move marks the first time that Waitrose has given an exclusive bay on its shelves to any other company.
The space will feature some of Hotel Chocloat’s most popular products including the Velvetiser drinking chocolate machine with selection boxes of the top 10 flavours, boxed selections of filled chocolates including ‘Serious Dark Fix’ ‘Patisserie’ and ‘Milk to Caramel’, bottles of Velvetised Cream drinks made with vodka, chocolate and cream, solid chocolate batons and vegan products.
Hotel Chocolat chief executive an co-founder Angus Thirlwell said: “We’re thrilled to be a part of this dynamic collaboration – a dedicated Hotel Chocolat branded space embedded within Waitrose, uniting two of the UK’s most loved brands. Our relationship with John Lewis & Partners has grown tremendously over the past ten years and we have built a terrific rapport. The time is right to bring HC into the luxurious food arena that is Waitrose and Waitrose.com.”
Stephanie Chafor, head of grocery and frozen foods at Waitrose, added: “Hotel Chocolat has long brought innovation and authenticity to the chocolate scene and we are excited by this new partnership and the dedicated space in our shops. We think our customers will love the brand’s ethical and sustainability credentials as much as the quality of their chocolate ”
